I have been a travel consultant with Travel Leaders since 1998 and in that 20 years of experience I have completed more specialist training programs than I can count with specific focus on Mexico and Disney Destination training. I have had the opportunity to visit all the major resort cities in Mexico. Each resort city has it's unique charm but the Cancun/Riviera Maya area always stands out as a top choice for Honeymooners, couples and families looking for the ultimate all inclusive vacation. I truly enjoy matching each traveler to the resort that will best fit their idea of a dream vacation. My other great travel passion would have to be all the Disney Destinations. I have visited Disneyland and Disney world close to 10 times over the years. Some might even say I'm a Disney fanatic but really I'm just an enthusiastic fan of all things Disney. What a fun experience with my co-worker, her husband and my sister in law when we were able to experience the Rivera Maya at the fabulous resort Grand Velas. The resort is upscale and all inclusive - which is a perk of many properties in Mexico.
We were treated to gourmet food and pampering at the resort, our room had its own private plunge pool.
One day we were able to experience Explor, an adventure park. Here you can enjoy six incredible activities: zip-lines, amphibious vehicles, rafts, swimming in underground rivers, spelunking and hammock splash. We chose to ride the amphibious vehicles. They travel over two circuits through jungle trails, crossing suspended bridges and driving under the surface into mysterious caverns and caves.This is an incomparable adventure where the water level varies as you enter the cave making it even more exciting as you go along.
There are also fascinating underground rivers filled with stalactites either on rafts or with life jackets and helmets.
Of course after such a busy day, the resort beacons you back to indulge in a delicious dinner and perhaps even a spa treatment.
